MICK O'DONNELL
Mick became aware of Soul music in the 70’s attending places like the Highland room (Blackpool) Wigan Casino, California Ballroom (Dunstable), Purley, Brighton, Royalty,Gold Mine, Caister 79/81, Rock City, (Nottingham), The Canal Tavern (Thorne R.D.)
So over the years he became a collector of the music without realising it, especially on the real side of soul, plus a little jazz as well. In 1998 he was asked on to a local radio station (HCR) to present a soul/jazz show, which was broadcast on Saturdays 10.00pm till midnight, this ran for about 5 years.
In 2005 he joined 209radio based in Cambridge playing Soul music, the name of the show was called 'Soul Discovery' and has gone from strength to strength with the style of Soul music being played from the 60s right up to present day.

Marcell & the Truth, David Sea, Ruby Baker, Kashious, Jimmy Levine, Rene Jones Michael Henderson, Phil Perry, Howard Hewett, Ron Matlock, Gina Darby

So it is with great excitement that Mick will be joining Solar Radio continuing his show 'Soul Discovery' He will be looking forward to working with fellow presenters on the station and although the show will be keeping a similar format he is looking to new and exciting times ahead!
