My shows these days are ad hoc, laden with oldies and album tracks laden with odd features and segues and cover discovers
and a nod to the new tunes too but still with Soul harmonies, funk Rhythms and jazz improvisations and the occasional ropy harmony just for a bit of fun from my own ageing vocal chords.

What attracted you to soul music in the first place, and does this still apply today?

Sweet harmonies, Funky bass driven rhythms, danceable beats, harmonic strings.

What are your top five favourite soul tracks?

I have No top five any more there are too many great songs and great cover versions of
favourites that Iam discovering /re discovering or are being re covered today.

What are your favourite three record labels?

A toughie! Philly international and it’s subsidiaries and early incarnations and counterparts
Motown/ and warner/Atlantic /stax but really they too numerous to mention what with all the indies that have come, gone and been absorbed
