Q1. What first attracted you to Soul Music, is this relevant today?

Soul music really uplifts me and makes me feel good! That’s what hooked me initially and still does today. Quite simply it’s in my blood and it’s the best music in the world!

Q6. What radio experience did you have before you joined Solar?

Very limited – a few shows at Southport circa 1995/6.

Q7. What is/are your main criteria in choosing records for airplay?

Q8. Why would you recommend Solar to a listener?

Because you will hear top tunes from presenters who have an undying passion for what they do. No mainstream, just simply great music!

Q9. Which other DJs do you admire and why?

Too many to mention but here goes and all for obvious reasons – Chris Hill, Robbie Vincent, Jeff Young, Gary Dennis, Pete Tong, Giles Peterson, Chris Brown, Steve Hobbs, Terry Jones, Colin Curtis, Bigger, Dr Bob Jones, Soul Sam, Bobby & Steve, Louis Vega & Ivor Jones. If i’ve missed anyone it’s not intentional.

Q10. How would you like to be remembered by a listener?

Good fun and has no barriers when it comes to black music.

Q11. What do you do to relax?

Listen to tunes (now there’s a surprise!), overseas travel (my favourite pastime) and last but not least watch Manchester United – C’mon You Reds!
